Why Did She Lose Weight?
Now let’s talk about Kristin Cavallari’s weight loss journey. Why did she lose weight? Well, as we said in the beginning, Kristin is one of the few people that didn’t want to lose weight.
The young actress became famous for sharing her life with the world. She shared that filming Laguna Beach made her feel uncomfortable.
She spoke about her weight loss and explained that her busy schedule and stress caused her body to shrink. Kristin said, “My workload left me with no time to sit down and pig out. I’m just on the go so much”.
So, she developed a habit to make up for lost meals and how that affected her. Cavallari explained in an interview in 2009, “I always have an energy bar with me, just in case I Don’t have time to eat, which is so bad. I am not normally like that. It’s only been the past months. I have low energy and I get headaches a lot. I need to be better about it”.
She continued, “I’ve been a little stressed out. It’s terrible, but stress can make you lose weight I guess”. Kristin believes stress was the reason for her body getting skinny.
Did She Have An Eating Disorder?
In an Instagram post, Kristin said she never had an eating disorder. Many people and some fans speculated that might be the reason for her low weight. But that is not true. In the comments, she remained consistent with her belief, “I never had an eating disorder. That was purely stress”.
The photo, which contained three photos, shows Kristin at a healthy weight, and two pictures of her when she was too skinny.
She wrote, “I’ve been sitting on this picture for a few days going back and forth on if I should post it or not. Ultimately I decided to bc I’ve come a long way from a few years ago and I’m really proud of the progress I’ve made. I don’t even recognize the girl in those other 2 photos, and no, I never had an eating disorder. That was purely stress. I work out really hard and am dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and I think just because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I can’t be proud of my body and be comfortable in my skin. So, here ya go”.
In the first photo, she is standing with her back to the camera, looking out at the ocean. She appears to be stronger and glowing compared to the other two photos.
Gaining Weight to Look Healthier
Now that we know what happened during Kristin Cavallari’s weight loss journey, let’s talk about how she gained weight the healthy way.
Fans have always had an interest in her life, and now with her new reality show and podcast, she is talking to the press more. This allowed her to speak on matters that changed. In July 2022, she explained why she has been celebrating her weight gain.
Kristin said, “I’ve gained a lot of muscle weight. I work really hard on my body and I think that’s something to celebrate, not something to be ashamed of. I also think there need to be more conversations around gaining weight rather than everyone always trying to be so thin”.
She detailed how she gained weight and changed her life in so many ways. For starters, she opted for a balanced diet and reduced her alcohol consumption. More on that below.
How She Gained Weight?
For Kristin Cavallari, being healthy was one of the biggest priorities. She wanted to stay fit and lead a balanced lifestyle. She was a mother, and there were so many positive changes in her life.
So, she wanted to remain healthy with a healthy weight. She began by reducing her alcohol consumption and focusing on eating healthy and wholesome foods. Those changes helped to maintain toned abs.
But weight training is a crucial part of her workout routine. She works out with a personal trainer three times per week. Kristin says her trainer is committed as much as she is in achieving the goals, “He kicks my ass. He pushes me really hard. He has me actually lifting really heavy weight, the heaviest weight I’ve ever lifted in my entire life”.
But lifting weights has made her feel great and strong. It serves as a motivation in her daily life and improves her confidence.
In another Instagram post, she showed a video of doing squats with a barbell of more than 150 pounds.
Speaking about her goal, she says, “My goal is sort of, right now, just to maintain the muscle that I have. I am not trying to lose weight”.
Even when she is not working out, she tries to do some physical activity in her routine.
Struggling With Her Body Type
Throughout her life, she has had a naturally lean and petite physique. She does not easily gain weight. Even with a positive shit, she cannot gain weight easily.
The reality TV star explained that with her body type, staying consistent is the only way to retain muscle. She says, “I am really petite. I have no hips. I am just small. And so, if I don’t work out for like a week or two, I feel like all my muscle goes away. My goal is to maintain the muscle that I have”.
Fighting Stereotypes And Body Shaming
As for her Instagram post, the young actress says she wanted to celebrate her weight gain and fight ideas about body image.
She says, “I also think there need to be more conversations around gaining weight rather than everyone always trying to be so thin. “I have a daughter and I think it’s very difficult now for everybody, but especially girls growing up and looking at social media. This idea of body image is just so warped. And I just worry about these young girls and so I think it just needs to be a bigger conversation about being OK gaining weight and not focusing on a number on the scale”.
With her former husband Jay Cutler, she has three children. Her sons Camden Jack and Jaxon Wyatt, and her daughter Saylor James.
She is now determined to show her children the difference between what’s real and what’s fake online.
Kristin says, “Because I’m in the press, it’s allowed me these opportunities to have these real conversations with my kids. When, if I wasn’t, I probably wouldn’t have had these conversations yet, but they see firsthand how not everything on the internet or on TV is real”.
The reality star is able to lay the groundwork for her children and give them a good grasp on social media, the Internet, and everything else.
