How much do we know about it? Kirsten is a famous actress who has been part of the entertainment industry since she was 13 years old. The actress rose to fame as Belle Black on the NBC serial opera Days of Our Lives. With that in mind, let’s take a look at all the weight gain rumors.

Get To Know Kirsten

Born Kirsten Renee Storms in April 1984, she is an American actress, best known for her roles as Zenon Kar in the Zenon trilogy, Emily in Johnny Tsunami, Isabella Belle Black in Days of Our Lives, Maxie Jones in ABC’s General Hospital, and more.

Born in Orlando, Florida, she grew up in the Greater Orlando area, mainly in Kissimmee, Casselberry, and Sanford. Kirsten has a younger sister named Gretchen Storms, a brother Austin Storms, and a half-brother Chris. Her parents are Karen Storms, and Mike Storms. Her father is a CBS affiliate.

Kirsten says she always wanted to be a soap opera actress. In one interview, she talked about a story from when she was five, saying ”One of the first agents I got, I told When I grow up, I’m going to be on a soap opera. You can get me commercials and stuff now, but what I really want to do someday is be on a soap opera. No one took me seriously. But I knew, even though I hadn’t actually watched one, it was something I always wanted to do”.

After visiting her father at work, the young girl convinced her parents to enroll her in acting classes. That helped her get discovered by a talent scout when she was only five.

Her first role was in a commercial for Galoob Baby Doll. But she had her mind set on something else. After appearing in several commercials, she decided to take things to the next level. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California.

She was 12 years old at the time. Soon, she landed a role in the long-running television series 7th Heaven. While she appeared only in three episodes, that helped her gain exposure.

Her first big role was in the Disney Channel’s original movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. It had the largest rating for any Disney Channel original movie at the time. Storms appeared in two more sequels.

In August 1999, she finally got her wish. Kirsten signed on to play Isabella Belle Black on the NBC daytime drama, Days of Our Lives. She initially faced upset viewers, but she quickly became popular with the audience.

During her five-year run, she appeared in many high-profile storylines, including the relationship with Shawn Brady, played by Jason Cook.

Following the end of her five-year contract, she decided not to renew it. A huge reason for that was her pilot for the show Clubhouse was picked up. She then got to play a rebellious teenager often finding herself in trouble over issues such as drugs, alcohol, and sex. But Storms embraced the new role, saying, “I can relate to a lot of things Betsy does”.

In 2005, she returned to familiar territory, becoming the third actress to portray Maxie Jones on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She left the show in March 2017 for personal reasons but then returned back in August 2017.

Did She Gain Weight Because Of Pregnancy?

Back in February 2018, Kirsten Storms’ weight gain rumors began for the first time. She had to speak out and inform her fans that her character was expecting a baby in ABC’s General Hospital. And they might see her looking bigger in the TV show.

But in real life, she was not pregnant. Despite her love of wearing baggy clothing, it had nothing to do with weight gain or pregnancy.

Kirsten even snapped a selfie to show off her figure and urged fans to speak online.

How Did She Gain Weight?

And while pregnancy was not the issue for her weight gain, Kirsten did say it was due to an illness. Fans became worried when she had to step down from her job at General Hospital.

Fans wished her a quick recovery on social media, and she even responded, saying she is “taking things easy”.

This is when Kirsten gained a significant amount of weight. Fans were supportive of her break from the show.

But like any other celebrity, Kirsten had to fight back and respond to every rumor out there.

Recovering From Covid-19

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Kirsten was one of the many celebrities that were affected by the disease. In December 2020, she tested positive for the coronavirus. She wished her followers a Merry Christmas and revealed her recovery from the virus.

Kirsten Storms Health Update

As we said before, the reason for Kirsten Storms’ weight gain was a health issue. These health problems have affected the famous actress and her life.

In 2020, she had a procedure to eliminate endometriosis-related scar tissue. She wrote on Instagram, “Even though I wanted to get better without returning to the hospital, my body did not have it. Since April, I’ve been struggling with serious pain concerns”.

In the same post, the American actress disclosed she suffers from anxiety and sadness, both of which have been difficult to manage during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Over the years, she has been transparent about her health issues and their effects on her life.

In one post, she said, “I spent the last few years having random health issues that I disregarded as side effects to my medications or just something I was experiencing due to age. When I went to get an MRI for some severe neck pain I have been experiencing for the last few months, my amazingly thorough orthopedist ordered an MRI on my neck just to be on the safe side”.

She continued, “That’s when we stumbled upon a rather large, very full of fluid, cyst that was attached to the lower portion of the brain. I feel very fortunate that my situation wasn’t more serious and that I had a wonderful neurosurgeon who immediately knew how to fix it”.

Firing Back At Critics

As you can assume, when celebrities gain weight, that is more than just news. It is a hot topic. Fans all over the world have their own opinion. And General Hospital star Kirsten Storms was affected as well.

She decided to speak against the constant comments on social media regarding her health and weight. Kirsten shared a selfie taken in the mirror at Target while shopping for her daughter Harper.

The GH star wrote, “I’ve gained a lot of weight since this afternoon when I took this picture. Look, I know what she was saying with her comment. Details about my health and medical conditions are nobody’s business, so I won’t go into my temporary weight gain to satisfy anyone’s thirst. However, I will say that it’s sad to see some people focus only on the status of my body (and when focusing on weight it is never meant in a positive way. ‘Losing’ or ‘gaining’ — it’s a judgment and it’s shameful). I’m healthy and I feel good — at any size, which is what matters to me the most. Comments with a snarky undertone only make me feel sad for the person who typed it and I truly hope their life sucks less tomorrow”.

Her fans immediately came to support her. After all, we have to remember, that Kirsten has a loyal fan base. Even her colleague, Maurice Benard, playing Sonny on General Hospital, joined in. He tweeted, “It’s easy for people to criticize because it makes them feel a certain way. Don’t judge until you’ve lived in someone’s shoes. Kirsten is not only absolutely beautiful but more importantly, incredibly brave”.
