Some fans might say it was about time someone started using modern technology for a hobby many love and cherish. Morphmarket is a great place for people who love reptiles. The fantastic website offers great customer service and many more services that will make your experience pleasant and enjoyable.

What is it?

Simply put, MorphMarket is a website that provides services and support to advance the herpetoculture industry. They promote efficient, ethical, and legitimate commerce and the keeping of reptiles, invertebrates, and amphibians.

John Lehmann, a passionate person about building services that advance the herp industry started the website. For many years, he was the only one running the website, and now he has a team of professionals dedicated to improving the services for the community.

He is among the many hobbyists. John’s love for animals began as a child. Yet, it wasn’t until 2014 that he discovered the online reptile community while researching pets for his family.

Because he faced challenges like a modern platform, he was inspired to create MorphMarket. He has a number of pets, including a bearded dragon, Dumervil’s boa, two pet rats, fish, hermit crabs, and a dog.

The MorphMarket website is a place where you can also find the pet reptile, pet snake, or anything similar for you.

Searching for your pet

morphmarket

There are more than 40 categories on the MorphMarket website and hundreds of thousands of exotic pets. You can search and browse them all. Some of the popular categories include boa constrictor, ball python, bearded dragon, leopard geckos, crested geckos, amphibians, reticulated python, other geckos, hognose snakes, kingsnakes, corn snakes, tortoises, invertebrates, and many more exotic pets.

How to find an animal?

The website offers many exotic animals listed. But people always want to know more about how to find a specific animal. We suggest trying some of these tips.

Use the Gene Index feature, found under the Browse tab of each category. Besides each gene or trait, you can see several numbers that represent the number of exotic animals with the specific forms of those that trait. For example, color-coded.

If you want to search for a specific species, simply type the input at the top of the page. For example, you can enter words like an adult male tortoise. The website understands gene names, but also terms like male, proven, and more. It is the best way to look for pet reptiles.

Use the advanced search

For those who want something specific, it is best that you use the advanced search option, located on the right side of the search input. The advanced search will provide a wide range of additional options and make your search more guided and specific. Advanced options will be retained between searches.

Some of the categories you can add specific input include sex, age, weight, diet, trait count, including, excluding, price range, availability, and seller (nearby, from country, exporting to, and more).

Just remember, MorphMarket is a proud member of USARK, an association advocating for the freedom to responsibly keep pet reptiles, lizards and amphibians. The website requires its users to agree to certain ethical standards in keeping their great pets. That also includes breeding.

Understanding buyer history

When you visit the MorphMarket website, you will notice a thing called buyer history. It is a system that allows users the opportunity to level up as they use the website and make purchases.

You can see buyer history with other information on the user profile. There are five levels represented by different colors.

It is not easy to go from level 4 to level 5. No, there are no bad levels. All users start from level 1 and aspire to get to Level 2 in time.

No, the level is not based on ratings from sellers. Yet, it is positively impacted through confirmed purchases from breeders. Generally, levels will stay the same or go up, they rarely go down.

Where does MorphMarket export to?

A lot of people are asking “can the website export to my country”. Well, this doesn’t depend on MorphMarket at all. Instead, it depends on the specific breeder. The website is not selling you anything.

It serves as a platform where fans can connect with a different breeder. If you want to see whether a specific breeder can export to your country, visit his/her Store Page and look for your country under delivery options.

Is it OK to have a snake as a pet?

Compared to other pets, snakes and reptiles are very safe and less dangerous than say, family dogs or a family cats. The biggest risk can easily be mitigated by properly washing your hands and keeping your reptile healthy and in a clean enclosure.

Make sure to supervise children while they are handling their snake, reptile, or amphibian. Also, clean and disinfect all surfaces that come into contact with your snake. Remember, use a reptile-safe disinfectant.

Do flush reptile waste down the toilet when applicable and dispose of snake waste in a receptacle that is not located in your kitchen. Never disclose waste near your garden or source of drinking water.

Most importantly, do not kiss your pet snake. And do not touch your mouth after handling your snake. Do not eat or drink until you have washed your hands with soap and water.
